Tomb Of Mian Ghulam Shah Kalhoro
Mian Ghulam
Shah Kalhoro was famous ruler of the kalhoro dynasty. His rule began in 1757
when he was appointed as ruler of Sindh by tribal chiefs of kalhoro. He was
recognized and bestowed by given the title of Shah Wardi Khan by Afghan kin
Ahmed Shah Durrani. He was able to bring stability in Sindh after the rule of
Main Noor Mohammad Kalhoro. He re-organized the country and defeated the
Marathas and conquered their permanent vassal the Rao of returned victoriously.
According to
historian, Ghulam Shah’s father Noor Muhammad Shah Kalhoro was succeeded by
three of his sons to the throne at different times. For same years people had
stopped taking the name of Sindh as the areas under the rule of the three
brothers were called by their respected names. It was then that Ghulam Shah.
Who was throned at Thatta. Conquered Sindh and restored it to its present-day
geographical status.
Mian Ghulam
Shah Kalhoro’s tomb is a religious shrine in Pakistan. This shrine is the
national heritage monument of Pakistan. It is the burial place of Mian Ghulam
Shah Kalhoro. Ghulam Shah Kalhoro founded Hyderabad in 1768 and built its
historical forts which are known today as Pakka Qila and Kacha Qila today.
Historically, the khlhoras had their capital at Khudabad but a change in the
course of the Indus river in 1750, necessitated the relocation of the capital
from 1754 to 1768 untill they founded Hyderabad.
The tomb of
Mian Ghulam Shah Kalhoro is 56 x 56 in width and 36 feet in height. The shrine
built inside a rectangular shaped fort. The tomb is a wonderful example of
Sindhi art which shaped windows and filled with terracotta grilles of
geometrical pattern.
Around
years ago endowment fund trust embarked two restore and 18th century
mausoleum of the kalhoro dynasty’s ruler Mia Ghulam Shah Kalhoro .
