Introduction.

Rani Bagh was initially established as a botanical garden only by Agro-horticultural society in 1861
and later animals were moved in. Rani Bagh has two main entrances, first one is on the eastern side called Thandi Sadak and the other one is on the right side beside Eid Gah of the Shaikh Ayaz road simply known as Poonam Pump road. People can enter and exit from both gates of the garden. The gate pass is of 20 rupees and the whole amount of gate passes go into the garden's caretake’s account. There are trees there in thousands of numbers which enhance the beauty of the park. The beauty of this Garden has not been taken good care of. The basic reason behind the distortion of green lawns of Rani Bagh is failure of management. Management has been failed to look after it properly. The rehabilitation program has been initiated and according to the administrator it will be done in 8 or 9 months. Government funded around 150 million to the development of Rani Bagh, but yet no development is occurred. There was the time when Rani Bagh was occupied with the greenery and fruit trees were there including the Oranges and Bananas. The reason on which the administration has to be attentive is that Rani Bagh is the only old Park of the Hyderabad and the distortion of it is the reason behind the bad remarks of the visitors. The park is situated on around 44 acres which can be very fascinating if it would be in better position. Therefore, the serious note is needed by the high officials of Hyderabad and serious actions must be imposed on the management of Rani Bagh which can enforce the staff to work efficiently. The only place of entertainment for people of Hyderabad is Fun land in Rani Bagh. It is the place where local people spend their weekends with their families, enjoy rides and food. There are total thirty seven shops in Fun land. These shops contain household things, toys for kids, clothes, bangles for girls, cosmetics and many more. There are total eleven rides in Fun land and none of them are originally from Pakistan. They wither belong to Germany, China etc. There is a separate food area where Channa Chhat, Sandwiches, Biryani, Gol-Gappay, Ice-cream etc. are available for curing people’s hunger. According to Assistant Manager Mohammad Nawaz who is working in Rani Bagh since 30 years, the Government intends to shut down Rani Bagh without giving any solid reason. Rani Bagh is divided into three portions and each portion have assigned different amount of budget for regulating the portion in a stable way. These portions are named: park, the second one is zoo farm and third one is Fun Land. Administration gives the advertisement for ACF also to get contractor, but when you go there you will be amazed after observing in the zoo that there is zoo without its king (lion) and neither will you find any elephant but no one is to ask from the administration.

                                            Park.

Rani Bagh was initially established as a botanical garden only by Agro-horticultural society in 1861. There are trees there in thousands of numbers which enhance the beauty of the park.
As entering the park, the view of the entire park was not much appealing from the entrance. There are two fountains one after the other which were not working and it seemed like that they were not in use since ages because of the unclean water with trash dumped in it. The other long fountains in front of Abbas Bhai Park were also in the same condition; not working and dirty. There was no cleanliness in some areas of park, open trash was dumped just few steps from the washroom. The grass in the park is not well maintained and not clean and the grass was uneven as well and there are huge patches of mud in the garden. Despite of having dustbins on the corners, the trash was seen dispersed in the park on grass. There is no proper seating arrangement for public; the available benches are mostly broken. The rides also like swings and slides are rusted and are not in very good condition for children to take fun from. Swings are missing, just the poles are available. The lighting in park was comparatively dim with how it actually should be bright. There were many light bulbs yet there is so much dark in park in night time. Out of all the light bulbs, some of them were either fused or some of the bulbs are in fact stolen by the shopkeepers, sometimes they get caught and sometimes they are lucky enough to escape. There are also seen young players playing sports like football in the parks.

The basic reason behind the distortion of green lawns of Rani Bagh is failure of management. Management has been failed to look after it properly. The administration of Hyderabad took serious notes on the development of natural ambience of the park, in 2011 DC Hyderabad Ahmed Bux Narejo wanted to start projects to bring the Park and lawns in to a favorable natural green condition. The projects failed to improve the parks because of the corruption factors in local government and also the administration claims that because the Bagh is technically situated downward of Wadhuwah, which affects in the growth of park. The biggest failure of management of Rani Bagh in the regard of Lawn is that the new pipelines of fountains were not being installed and the old pipelines are leaked and due to this fountains cannot be functional. The rehabilitation program has been initiated and according to the administrator it will be done in 8 or 9 months. Government funded around 150 million to the development of Rani Bagh, but yet no development is occurred.

The failure behind this is the unrighteous usage of aids and not merit distribution of funds on the various portions of Rani Bagh. The benches of the lawn are in the worst conditions. The reason behind this is that no one is willing to work on the project of Rani Bagh plus the staff employed for the purpose to look after the lawn is not working efficiently. The de watering machines are outdated also which cause the improper sewage system of the park. The administration claimed that it is directed to work on rehabilitation of park but the time stated by management is a lot than necessary to make the work done. It shows the complete laziness of Deputy Commissioner, local government and the management of Rani Bagh. The park is situated on around 44 acres which can be very fascinating if it would be in better position. Therefore, the serious note is needed by the high officials of Hyderabad and serious actions must be imposed on the management of Rani Bagh which can enforce the staff to work efficiently.

                                         Fun land.

The only place of entertainment for people of Hyderabad is Fun land in Rani Bagh. It is the place where local people spend their weekends with their families, enjoy rides and food. There are total thirty seven shops in Fun land. These shops contain
household things, toys for kids, clothes, bangles for girls, cosmetics and many more. All shops are made up of Iron. Shopkeepers pay 4000 rupees rent every month to Government for the area reserved by shops although their earning is not more than enough. They pay the electricity bill around 3000 to 4000 because of the constant usage of refrigerator to keep the eatables and beverages cold. Although the source of earning is not same every day, they earn more on weekends; sometimes 2000 rupees every Sunday than in normal working days. The area of shops is 150 and 20square foot. The things sold in shops vary from 5 to 6 rupees from the original price so that the shopkeepers can manage their budget of electricity, rent and all the bills. Moreover, they also give 3000 rupees to sweepers for cleaning the area.15240191_619662264900795_743545762_n.jpg
According to the shopkeepers, mostly the rush happens on weekends only where things from the shops are stolen by little children so the shopkeepers are bound to hide their stuff where no one can reach easily and the things be saved from stealing as well. On walking some distance from the entrance of Fun land, there sits an aged man named Saif ul Rehman commonly known as Shah Baba reads the hands of people who visit him and tell them about their future destiny. He does not charge for this and does not rely on this business for living but people come and pay him with their own will.

There are total eleven rides in Fun land and none of them are originally from Pakistan. They whether belong to Germany, China etc. The Tele Compact (TC), Crazy bus, Dodging cars and the train rides cost 20 rupees ticket while Flying carpet (FC), Ali Baba bus, Aero plane ride and Octopus rides cost ticket of rupees 25. 15281825_619662254900796_560084197_n.jpg

There is a separate food area where Channa Chhat, Sandwiches, Biryani, Gol-Gappay, Ice-cream etc. are available for curing people’s hunger. There is another separate play area for children where small cars, dream catcher, table tennis, boxing and other games are available on token and one token costs just rupees 10. There is also a photo studio which costs 50 rupees per snap.
Most of the public complained about the insecurities of rides. Due to no seat belts in rides it makes everyone think twice before letting their children enjoy the ride. Another drawback is that there is no facility of alarm in case of emergency.

According to Assistant Manager Mohammad Nawaz who is working in Rani Bagh since 30 years, the Government intends to shut down Rani Bagh without giving any solid reason. He further said that this is the only source of income for people working in Rani Bagh since many years. If they close Fun land than those poor people will have to suffer through financial crisis. This is also loss for people of Hyderabad because this is the only place for entertainment in Hyderabad where middle-class people come with their family, enjoy rides and food. Mohammad Nawaz further requested that the Government should first consider public’s interest before closing Fun land, Rani Bagh.

                                       Budget.

Rani Bagh is a very first visiting and enjoyment place established for the local citizens of Hyderabad. It is located on the opposite side of Shahbaz building, which is very famous office of revenue department. Rani Bagh has two main entrances, first one is on the eastern side called Thandi Sadak and the other one is on the right side beside Eid Gah of Shaikh Ayaz road simply known as Poonam pump road. People can enter and exit from both the gates of garden. But now in the present time the condition of garden is too poor in some perspective. People are facing difficulties to come and enter in garden, the gate pass is of 20 rupees and the whole amount of gate passes go into the garden's care taker’s account.15226491_619725471561141_1080002229_n.jpg
In the garden there are lot of tubby shops which are opened by the municipal committee and leased to the local investors but those tubby shops are totally illegal even no one knows how and to whom they are paying the rent of those shops, even there is no name of single audit team who can ask and investigate about the amount of rent and lease etc. Rani Bagh is divided in three portions and each portion has different amount of budget assigned for regulating the portion in a stable way. These portions are named as the park, the second one is zoo farm and the third one is Fun Land. All three portions of garden are leasable and every year in the month of July the municipal committee of Taluqa Hyderabad announces the legal advertisement of all three portions of garden. The record of last year of lease shows the facts and figures about contractors who got the permit of lease of their selected portion. The permits of lease are always given to the some selected persons who are in a close relation with local Member of Provisional Assembly (MPA). A man who has a job there told that ‘if you have plan to visit Rani Bagh then I am telling you that please go and see the condition of it’. The second portion of garden is zoo which is the only zoo in Hyderabad city. As mentioned above that it is also given by authorities on lease but the interesting fact is that zoo's lease is also divided in two parts. When you enter zoo, you must buy another gate pass which is only for zoo visitors, without ticket, the care taker will not let you enter the zoo and the second lease in a zoo is about Animal Care Fund (ACF). Administration gives the advertisement for ACF also to get contractor, but when you go there you will be amazed after observing in the zoo that there is zoo without its king (lion) and neither will you find any elephant but no one is to ask from the administration. All the lease permits have been completed in the month of June but administration did not call for new permits openly or by the advertisement. On the other hand whole system of the garden is under control of the municipal committee, Hyderabad. Some sources said "the parking was given on lease in 17 lac rupees to Porho (old) Vikesh. The main entrance gate contract was sold to Ameer Hussain Chandio for the sake of 20 million and 2 lac rupees only and the contract of zoo's was sold to Mr. Ramzan Chandio in 33 lacs only but all people together have blundered the garden time by time even they sold the trees of garden but no one had asked about it.

Conclusion.

With all the faults and defects, Chief Municipal Officer (CMO) Zahoor assures that the Government has been working to re-stable the condition of Rani Bagh so that people come and enjoy without any complaints. Apart from that the complaint that Mr. Mohammad Nawaz, Assistant Manager of Fun land has put forward that the Government has constantly been threatening them to close the Fun land, he urges the Government not to go for this act because it will not be proven as a good outcome for all the people working here and earning with all their hard efforts and because this is the only place for entertainment for people of Hyderabad. If the Government closes this source of joy then the public is going to be really disappointed from Hyderabad.
