Being a woman it is quite difficult to live and work in a male oriented society, like Pakistan.
Here status of women is far worse than men. Unfortunately, Pakistan  is not a country known for equality between men and women.
Here when a women travels to work she must still be ready for stares and rude remarks from strangers. Women have to faces hurdles and obstacles despite of their class differences.
A working woman is a woman whether she works as a domestic worker or she’s appointed as a white collar worker.
Today’s women are performing their role as doctor, teachers, lawyers, domestic worker , cotton picker and many other fields of life .
As far as the capabilities of women are concerned they are no less than men.
To know more about working women let’s discuss working women in categories of  lower class, middle class, and upper class.
Lower Class working women.
Women in this category include a cotton picker or a labour who works in agricultural fields . woman who works whole day under the burning beams of sun and earns half of a money as compare to a male labour.  another one is domestic worker who works as a dishwasher or a maid at others houses , there’s another trend of female domestic domestic workers in which young girls of age 7-16 or the adult ones pay their services 24/7 in elite families to earn their bread . they’re treated worse than dogs their master yell at them, beat them , throw dishes at them, kicked them out from their houses , doesn’t provide them food and clothes and shelters, sometimes deduct their salaries for minor offenses. They treat them like a garbage just because they are women they are weak who can’t take any stand against them. But still they are doing their job to feed their families
Women are working in various sectors including fisheries , small industries, livestock, cottage industries, home based labour etc.  most of these sectors aren’t  classified as formal labour sectors where labour laws apply and for same reason role of women in economy is mostly not appear in records. Women in our lower classes are to fight severe battles of survival, without them working their families cannot survive.  It is the economic constraint on them. When they come out to work , they’ve to face two fold miseries ; discrimination and limited opportunities . it goes to their credit and honor that they survive in these circumstances and provide for their families.
Middle Class working women.
Women in this category are white collar workers with comparatively smaller families. They are doctors, engineers, professors, lecturers, contractors etc. it is is the result of two decades that women from middle class families are actively taking part in increasing the economy of a country . they are educated and avail private health care . they send their children to private schools. They live comfortably than poor class, but are financially lower than upper class. Working women of this also have to face abusive language, taunting and sarcastic comments, physical harassment  etc in their work places.
Upper Class working women.
Upper class working women in Pakistan enjoy high social, economic and poltical status and they are privileged class people . these women have sense of superiority . mostly have their own business like interior designers, models, textile brands , HR managers , marketing managers etc, .
At present women are enjoying a good status in upper class. The first female speaker of national assembly is explicit  example. In art and entertainment sharmeen obaid chinnoy has received Oscar award for her documentary film ‘’ Saving face”.
Nevertheless women suffer in miserable problems .
These problems may be social political and economical. A healthy and educated women can build a strong society . in many families women are restricted to get education , due to lack of education women failed to get their right and suffer in domestic violence.
Though working women in Pakistan face significant obstacles. But there’s now a critical mass of working women at all level showing the way to other Pakistani women . working women have a positive impact on society by investing her time , energy and money for better nutrition ,education and health care.
As women are progressing   and proving themselves in every walk of life, from working in agricultural fields to flying a jet nothing can stop women and there will be a time when society will accept her and will give her equal position and respect.
